Introduction
This cell is established in compliance with the Supreme court to address the harassment to women students, teaching and non-teaching employees of college.
Aims & Objectives
- • » To prevent sexual harassment and to promote general well-being of female students, teaching and non teaching women staff of G.M.Vedak College.
- • » To create social awareness about the problems of women and in particular regarding gender discrimination.
- • »To organize guest lectures, workshops for creating general awareness and orientation of students, villagers for their active and sustained participation in the activities of Cell.
- • »To organize various types of training programmes like self-defence, skill development (Mehandi, Beautician, Sewing, Handicrafts etc) to be self reliance.
Activites of WDC in 2011-2016
- Guest lectures by doctors.
- Information by lawyers and Mahilla dakshita committee.
- Self-defence work shop. (To protect themselves during need).
- Skill development workshops.(mehandi, beautician, handicraft, sewing etc)
- Celebrations of International women`s day (by distributing ground nuts and jaggery among villagers, Guest lectures , distribution of trophies to ladies from different fields like police department, bachat gudh, education department etc)
- Social work ( Going to villages to create awareness about education, health, environment etc).
- Homage paid to female personalities ( Savitri bai phule and Rajmata Jijabai)
