Introduction

G.M. Vedak College of Science library established 2009; library is fully computerized with e-Granthalaya library automation software. Reading room has seating arrangement for nearly 50 students. It has sufficient lighting and ventilation arrangement. Internet facility is given in the library. Library is the most important department in the college. Keeping in mind the number of stakeholders increases every year, our college library always endeavors to enrich the library by adding quality text books, reference books, world-class journals etc. The enrichment of library is reflected with 1374 reference books and important text on various subjects, which includes 91 texts from book-bank and 197 donated books. Two full-time members serve the library, which is headed by Librarian Mr. Dhavan S. K. and assisted by Mr. Wadhawal M. J. The enrichment of library continues every year. During Academic Year 2014-15, the library has added 207 books which cost around Rs. 52000. The subscription of 11 world-class journals, magazines, and, daily subscription of nationally and locally important newspapers (5 nos.) are being added in the library on regular basis. In the current technological age, the library is no far being a traditional library, but subscribes N-List e-resource of INFLIBNET, which contains 97000 books and 5000 Journals. The library has E-library facility, having 2 computers connected with 4 nodes in LAN. We also provide users some Free E-Books library have a Internet facility. Our reading room seating capacity is 50 and total library users are 300. Daily transaction of library is up to 25 and 60 users visit library daily. In academic Year 2014-15 we started competitive exam study center. in the library we always provide guidance to students from this center and provide them competitive exam books, journals and material available which is online dated 26 December 2014. Library organized competitive exam guidance and guest was PSI Mr.Vishnu Redkar. He guided student very well. In Academic Year 2015-16, we formed new Library Advisory Committee. The committee is following and it gives us suggestions and guidance.

Library Rules

Students can avail two books for one week. Book should be renew after one week
Use of Mobile is strictly prohibited in the library.
Complete silence and strict discipline must be maintained in reading Room.
Encyclopedia, Dictionary, current journal and magazine shall be not allowed to lend outside the library.
Any attempt to damage books or periodicals by tearing the pages or writing something will be treated as misconduct and strictly dealt with that matter.
